How the tournament works
Eight teams are split into two groups of four. Australia, England, Samoa and Wales make up Group A; Fiji, France, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea make up Group B. Every side plays the other three in its group, with two competition points for a win and one for a draw.
The top two of each group go straight to the semi-finals on 7โ8 November, where the Group B winner meets the Group A runner-up and the Group A winner meets the Group B runner-up. There is no third-place play-off. The final is at Lang Park, Brisbane on 15 November 2026.
